This quarter, Speedcast hit several exciting milestones related to our expanding connectivity toolkit and the services we deliver for customers.
On the connectivity front, Speedcast continued our market leading position with Starlink, reaching nearly 9,000 kits sold to-date. Our technology and network integration expertise – delivering Starlink as part of a hybrid managed service – has enabled tremendous success responding to the LEO service’s market entry since our initial agreement was announced two years ago.
Starlink continues to be an important component of our continuously expanding connectivity portfolio, which is why our technical teams stay up to speed on Starlink’s changing offerings. This includes their recent switch from two distinct terminal designs for enterprise users on land and at sea, to a single versatile Flat High Performance (HP) terminal.
One notable modification of the new Flat HP kit includes the removal of the router. While users can still connect directly to Starlink, this setup may not be ideal for business users or those requiring essential controls and flexibility. The router serves as the central hub that directs and manages the flow of internet traffic within a network, allowing multiple devices to connect and communicate seamlessly.
For enterprise users, connecting to the internet without a router can compromise network management, data flow control, and device connectivity. This quarter, we also celebrated the start of an exciting fleet rollout for a new global cruise customer. The first ships went live in July, with the full fleet targeted for completion by year-end. The new hybrid connectivity solution has received positive customer feedback from both remote site users and shore-side leaders, highlighted below. Taking Our Ground Infrastructure Expertise to a Whole New Level
New Teleport Build on Remote Volcanic Island
Following the successful construction of OneWeb's LATAM gateway teleport in Colombia, the Speedcast team has been busy putting our ground network expertise to use for a new complex project! This dedicated ground infrastructure project is located on a remote volcanic island approximately 1,200 miles west of Africa. Speedcast was selected for the complex project given our expertise implementing ground networks in challenging, dynamic environments. The site requires specific ground equipment weathered and ruggedized for the island conditions, which protects from salt air and sandstorms. We look forward to sharing more on this project as our team continues the build out of the 17 antennas and associated radomes. Speedcast kicked off the Q3 tradeshow and events season at Electramining in Johannesburg. The team networked with key mining customers and prospects throughout the event, as well as conducted live demos of SD-WAN delivered via our network management solution, Speedcast SIGMA.
SMM Sept 3-6; Hamburg, Germany
Meanwhile in Hamburg at the biennial SMM maritime show, Speedcast experts conducted live demo sessions at the stand, showcasing Speedcast SIGMA and cybersecurity offerings with our partner, Cydome. The team also welcomed a great turnout for a co-hosted networking reception with partner Intellian Technologies. Thanks to all who joined us!

Team members in Colombia represented Speedcast at the ANDICOM show in Cartagena. The team presented a demonstration of Speedcast SIGMA combining OneWeb, GEO and Starlink that allows cellular 4G and 5G networks to be extended with 100% uptime to remote areas.
